Senior Project Overview

Senior Project consists of four parts, and each part must be completed to earn credit for this course:

Project:

Research Paper:

  • Traditional Project (service, product, or a combination of both): 15 hour project that stretches the student.
  • ​Job Shadowing Project: 25-30 hour job shadowing/internship in a specific career field.

Mentor Verification:​

  • Both Projects: Students will document their date and hours they completed their project and give a brief description of what was completed. This document is to be initialed and signed off by hand by the mentor that assisted them through this project.  ​
  • Both Project: 8-10 page research paper in MLA format with at least 8 sources.​

Presentation:

  • Both Project: 14-20 minute presentation of your paper and completed project in class.
​

Project Details:

  • Projects must be approved by the Senior Project Committee BEFORE you begin working on it. 
  • ​​Must be meet minimum hours (15+ for traditional and 25+ for jobs shadowing)
  • Hours must be recorded with pictures and detailed logs
  • You MUST be in the log pictures to ensure you completed the work
  • Completed projects only—no works-in-progress
